This album was originally released on CDr in 2000, sold at shows by Modey Lemon and distributed to local record stores in Pittsburgh. Each copy was inserted into a hand-made paper sleeve. When the band signed with AF Records, they chose to re-record some of the tracks, remix others, and record some new material for what became their 2002 self-titled release on AF Records. House on the Hill was referred to as their 'demo album', only seeing the limited CDr release until the album was issued on vinyl for the first in 2014 by Omentum Records. House on the Hill includes the band's recordings from 1. their first rehearsals, 2. their 2nd live performance, which took place on the University of Pittsburgh's WPTS 92.1 FM on Halloween 1999, and 3. subsequent recordings taking place at WPTS studios.
